Beware, Passive Smokers Threatened Deaf!

Passive smokers who live among active smokers tend to have hearing problems that can cause deafness, according to a study conducted by U.S. scientists.

As reported by Zee News, Sunday (2 / 1), studies involving 3307 people aged between 20 and 69 years researching the link hearing loss with the effects of smoking. In this study, the research participants were asked to hear the sound, ranging from the lowest frequency of 500 Hz to 8000 Hz is the highest. Results showed those who do not smoke but live among the smokers had a hearing loss, especially when they are required to capture high-frequency sound.

The study also found that active smokers also did not rule out the possibility of suffering from hearing loss, although the risk is not for those who become passive smokers.

In the Journal of Health Tobacco Control, the leader of the study write, "Further studies are needed. If the findings are confirmed independently, then the hearing will be one of the bad effects of cigarette smoke."
